As the world knows, the Chinese government has been calling the arrest of the trawler's captain invalid and illegal since September
and has been reacting to Japan with a series of harsh diplomatic countermeasures.
Although the Japanese Coast Guard had taken a video to prove that the Chinese fishermen were guilty,
the footage of the collision between the two ships had been kept strictly confidential to the public by the Japanese government in order to maintain diplomatic relations with China.
Many Japanese citizens were angered by their government's refusal to disclose the video, as well as the government’s decision to release the Chinese captain free without trial.
Now that the video has leaked and since it clearly shows that
the Chinese fishermen are guilty for the collision, they should be put on trial.
